If only our mobile Physiotherapists had a dollar for every time we were asked this!

Our mobile Physiotherapists often get asked, hot or cold? We often get asked what is the best to use to relieve my pain or assist the healing, heat or ice?

The answer is, it depends.

We need to understand the cause of the pain or injury before we can make that judgement as each condition requires an individual approach.

Some general points below:

– Ice for injuries / pain less than 6 weeks old.

– Heat for injuries / pain greater than 6 weeks old.

– Ice will numb, reduce pain and circulation.

– Heat will relax and smooth.
