World Physiotherapy day helps to bring about awareness of Physiotherapy and how we can help people.
We are proudly associated with the Australian Physiotherapy Association (https://australian.physio/) which represent and advocate for Physiotherapist in Australia.
Most Physiotherapy sessions will involve some sort of assessment of the condition, a provisional diagnosis if this has not already been established, identification of key signs and symptoms, establishment of a treatment plan, treatment including both manual therapy, education and / or exercise therapy, re-assessment, guidance with a home based program or behaviour modification and follow ups as needed.
Our aim to reduce pain or disability, improve function / performance and quality of life.
Some of the key aspects of Physiotherapy:
* Pain management for acute and chronic conditions
* Exercise prescription for improved mobility, performance and function. This can include elite athletes or just those wanting to live at home longer and reduce risk of falls.
* Education and movement modification. Knowledge is key, often providing clients with a better understanding can make all the difference
* Chest physiotherapy. This can be helpful for increasing secretion clearance and is often part of an ongoing program for those with chronic lung conditions.
As you can see the skills are vast and can be utilised in many many situations so if you have a question and don’t know if we can help. Just reach out.
