Mobility and flexibility are key physical attributes, which help to facilitate balanced movement in the later years of life and reduce falls.
To simplify flexibility is how much range of motion you have when muscles are relaxed, where as mobility is the range of motion you have when your muscles are controlling the movement.
Both of these result in an increased range of motion of the joint, better functioning of muscles and better balance.
At any age we should aim to maintain all of our physical attributes to reduce the risk of injury, falls and pain.
